Settings > Battery. Look for degraded capacity or a warning message. A recent software update can also cause temporary drain — this often resolves itself within a few days.
If drain started right after an update, enable Adaptive Battery and give it 24-48 hours. Software-caused drain usually settles down; hardware wear doesn't.
Shutting off well above 20% remaining, getting hot during normal use, or physical swelling are hardware signs — that's when a replacement actually helps.

The A06 doesn't carry an official IP water resistance rating — that's actually a real difference from its own A06 5G sibling, which does carry IP54. It can usually survive light rain or a splash, but there's no lab-tested seal here, so water exposure carries more real risk than on models with an IP rating.
Optical in-display fingerprint sensor
The A06 was actually the very first phone in Samsung's whole new A0x ultra-budget line, released in August 2024 — before the A06 5G, A07 4G, and A07 5G that all followed it. It runs a MediaTek Helio G85 chip, different from the Helio G99 in the A07 4G and the Dimensity chips in the 5G models in this line. If your phone isn't holding a charge like it used to, that's a real, replaceable battery issue, not something to just live with.
Battery drain after software updates
Like most Android phones, a major software update can temporarily cause faster battery drain while the system reindexes apps in the background. Worth ruling out with a day or two of normal use, or checking Adaptive Battery settings, before assuming a battery replacement is needed.
